FUNDACIÓN MAPFRE, created in 1975, carries out activities of general interest to society on the following objectives in Spain and Latin America:
– promote the security of people and their heritage, with special attention to road safety, medicine and health.
– the improvement of the quality of life and the environment.
– promote the dissemination of culture, arts and letters.
– promoting training and research in matters relating to insurance.
– encourage research and the dissemination of knowledge in relation to the common history of Spain, Portugal, and countries linked to them by historical ties.
– contribute to the improvement of the economic, social and cultural conditions of the people and less favoured sectors of society.
– the activities are developed through five specialized institutes: Social Action; Science of insurance; Culture; Prevention, health and environment
environment and road safety.
features: to contribute to the conservation and improvement of the environment, meets the award “ best performance environmental ”, with the aim of recognizing an institution that has carried out a project or action that contributes to sustainable development, with an endowment of € 30,000.
shall be eligible for the award the public or private entities that have developed a project or environmental performance results have brought significant benefits in any of the following:
– sustainable local development.
– conservation of the natural environment.
– reduction of pollution and waste generation.
– prevention of global warming.
– dissemination and environmental awareness.
criteria to select the award-winning environmental performance are as follows:
– environmental and/or social benefit, appreciating in each case the number of benefited citizens; the reduction of emissions, discharges and waste; the number of species and/or favored copies, etc.
– multiplier effect.
– innovation and originality.
the call extends to Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American nationals, and entities with headquarters in Spain, Portugal and Latin America.
